In November 2024, HTP Ostrava CZ hosted a three-week tactical training course for UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) operators from the Czech Armed Forces. The course, focused on tactical procedures and operational techniques, integrated theoretical lessons with practical training on advanced UAS tactical simulators.
The first week of training, conducted by Czech instructors, was primarily focused on joint operations and coordination with JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller). The following two weeks were led by British instructors, who brought extensive expertise not only in modern UAS systems, including the MQ-9 Reaper, but also from their experience in numerous international deployments. Leveraging their real-world operational knowledge, they provided participants with invaluable practical skills and tactical insights.
The course, tailored to meet the specific needs of the Czech Army, provided participants with top-tier training, covering mission planning, hands-on exercises with simulators, and detailed after-action reviews. These activities offered the opportunity to practice complex tactics and procedures that would be difficult, if not impossible, to replicate in live exercises.
“The training on these state-of-the-art UAS simulators, along with expert-led theoretical sessions, has been outstanding. Not only are we trained by native speakers and professionals with years of experience in UAS operations, but we also had the chance to practice techniques that would be difficult to replicate in real-life training scenarios. This course is preparing us for actual combat operations,” said one of the participants.
Thanks to the collaboration with British experts, this course has proven to be a unique and essential step in preparing UAS operators for modern combat environments, where unmanned systems play a crucial role in ensuring battlefield dominance.
